Podunavlje is the eastern Serbian region. Situated along the river Danube and Morava, it is noted for its plains and swamps. The main language is Serbian and has prevailing Serb population. The climate is temperate continental. It consists of subregions Timok and Sopluk. Here was born Serbian compositor Stevan Mokranjac.
