Piran, the peninsula of Slovenia

Located in the Obalno-kraška region, the charming town of Piran is on the coastline of the Adriatic Sea. The Mediterranean landscape of the Slovenian coast differs a lot from the rest of Slovenia.

Piran is one of the most important towns on the Slovenian coastline. The main square of Piran is the beautiful Tartini Square, an important port for small ships. One of the greatest viewpoints of the peninsula of Piran is from the City Wall. From the Cathedral of St. George, the view of the Adriatic Sea is also very charming.

Walking through the narrow paved streets of Piran and strolling by its beautiful seacoast, under the warm sunshine and the salty breeze, are great ways to discover the town. Many nice restaurants have a terrace with a view on the Adriatic Sea. Other interesting attractions in Piran is the Aquarium and the Benečanka House, where you can purchase the famous Piranske Soline Salt Flowers from the Salts Pans of Piran.
