Who doesn’t wants to buy a really cheap plane ticket? Booking your flight tickets for a low price is like a dream come true. Even if you often book your tickets yourself, you must not be aware of these tips and tricks. Have a look and save a few bucks:

Some researchers have shown that the cheapest plane ticket can be bought 57 days or earlier before the flight, however very often airline companies crush the prices just a week prior to the flight especially if they haven’t sold enough tickets.

2. An Alternate Destination

If you are traveling to a certain destination and you can`t find a cheap ticket, try to find an alternative destination that has a connection to your desired destination. Sometimes it is cheaper to fly a bit around rather than directly, it will take more time but can save a lot of money.

3. Promotions and Advertisements

Airline companies often have special offers and promotional prices that they advertise on social networks. Following the social networks may be a great way to find a cheap ticket as some companies use exclusively these channels for promotional prices.

4. Check for Round Trips

Even though the roundabout trip is usually the cheapest way, this is not always the case. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy 2 single trip tickets rather than a return trip.

5. Look for Different Web Pages

Search from different web pages for your flight as you might find different prices.

6. Clear Browsing History

Some web pages track which flights are most popular and can raise prices for that particular flight, so clear your browsing history before exploring deals. Also, some pages track IP address, so it might be a good idea not to search always from the same place.

7. Check Official Websites

Airline companies often have the best deals on their own web pages, so check theirs first before exploring further.

8. Check for Headquarters

Some airline companies offer better deals for people who purchase tickets from the same country where the airline headquarters is. All it takes for a buyer is to change the country of residence on the airline web page.

9. Double Check Before Hitting Confirm

Read carefully what you are booking, check if there are additional fees or taxes to be paid at the airport, check if there are special services included or excluded from what you have booked online and the most important thing – check the airline luggage policies. Very often people make a mistake when they don`t read carefully the conditions, they book at what seems to be a cheap ticket and then later, find out that they have to pay additional fees for luggage and the end result is not a very cheap ticket.

10. Prior Booking of Luggage

Book your luggage online. The cheapest way for the luggage is to book it the same time you buy the ticket. If you book your luggage after you`ve purchased the ticket but before the online check-in it will cost a bit more, and booking it at the airport is the most expensive option. Also, keep in mind that airlines can be very strict about the weight of luggage so be careful not to cross it as they charge very expensive fees.
