India necessarily has five main seasons – Summer, Winter, Monsoon, Autumn, and Spring. The climate in different parts of India varies according to the time of the year. For example, the North could get really chilly and unbearable during winters, however, it could be a perfect time to visit many other states such as Goa, Kerala, and Gujarat. Likewise, the temperature and comfort differs between the various states during the month of summer as well. Summer is also the time when most schools and colleges in India are closed for a couple of months due to summer vacations.
Summer falls between April and June in India and starting July until mid of September is the Monsoon season. Summer is also the time when most travel agencies in the country including the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) launches special offers and special train services to and fro popular tourist destinations. Though travelling the country and exploring it thoroughly could take months maybe even years, there are some places and experiences that you CANNOT miss if you are planning your travel to India during the summer months.
Note that, this list has been made exclusively keeping in mind the most popular holiday destinations in India during the summers. It is not the “top destinations in India” list.
