Chill out at Badian Beach
Tired? Need a break? Feeling like chilling out a bit? That’s a fantastic news because Badian beach is just one of the most beautiful beaches nearby Cebu, approximately 3 hours by bus from the city center. Beautiful, relaxing and easy to reach.
Extra tip: Head to Cebu South Bus terminal and ask for a bus to Badian. Many tourists ask the driver to drop them at Kawasan falls – an extremely peaceful natural place where you can enjoy many waterfalls of natural spring water. The entrance to the park costs PHP50 and the guide is going to expect a tip and about PHP20, which is a reasonable price.
Don’t miss shopping at mall SM Cebu
I know that not everyone likes shopping when travelling, but it’s a must when visiting Cebu. Why? SM City Cebu is one of the largest shopping malls in this area. There is a good Wi-Fi inside so you can surf the Internet while shopping or having a cup of coffee in one of local coffee shops. What’s more? you can find a great variety of souvenirs, local clothes, western food (if you feel like having a home dish) as well as brand fancy outfits.
Location: SM City Cebu, North Reclamation Area, 6000 Cebu City.
Eat big at Minglanilla public market
Cebu is a perfect place to experiment with food. But be careful! Most street dishes are greasy and packed with sugar, thus, you want to find a nice place for tasting the local cuisine. Minglanilla public market, located a couple of km from Cebu, is a great place to buy fresh fish, fruits and veggies as well as souvenirs. You will pay a local price for all fresh goodies! Locals will treat you with fresh ingredients such as rice, steamed/fried veggies, a lot of tropical fruit salads and sweets if you like some.
Besides, there are plenty of places where you can drink and except Minglanilla public market. Most of the local restaurants and all bakeries are open 24/7 and everyone can easily find something that will live up to their expectations. You can find food vendors with fruits and grilled veggies, pickled fish and meat, roasted chicken nearly everywhere. As anywhere else in the Philippines, Cebu is overloaded with bakeries from where you can get freshly baked white bread, morning pastries, buns, cakes, and muffins. If you are short of cash, you can do your food shopping in local supermarkets.
