Surprising Attractions of Multicultural Heritage
Lendava has a very rich history, always under the heavy influence of many different nations and cultural groups that lived here. As it lies on a cross road of three countries – Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia – it was mostly populated by people from these three countries and other ethnical groups.
All of these left a distinct mark on the architectural and cultural image of the town. Lendava is filled with remarkable monuments, unique attractions and even modern buildings that were built with the intent of preserving the rich multicultural traditions.
Most of the visitors who decide to take a day trip to Lendava start their visit in the famous Slovenian spa Terme Lendava. It lies just about 10 minutes from the city centre. You can start a great day of sightseeing by borrowing a bike and taking a trip to the city centre.
When you reach the centre of Lendava, you will not need any transportation, as most of the attractions lie quite close to each other. It is best to start your sightseeing day with the most controversial attraction in Lendava – the Theatre and Cultural Hall. A building like no other in Slovenia.

Take a walk through the nice square in front of the Theatre and Cultural Centre and you will reach the Lendava Synagogue.

Another Important Religious Monument in Lendava
A short walk from the synagogue will lead you to the main street of Lendava, which is called Glavna ulica.
If you take a walk alongside this street, you will reach the Evangelical Church on the left side of the street. You will also see some quite nice townhouses with pastel facades and beautiful decorations.
If you cross the street, you will reach the Church of St. Catharine and find a road that leads to the Lendava Castle. The church of St. Catharine is located right across the street, on a small park beside it.

Impressive Roman Catholic Church with a mysterious vault
You will get a great view of the Lendava Castle from the park beside the church. The castle stands right above the church, almost as a silent guardian. You will find the road that leads to the castle on the right side of the church.
After you check out the great museum and gallery in Lendava Castle, it is time to explore nature. Take the same road that lead you to the castle, but do not go back to the Church of St. Catharine. A crossroad is located in the middle of the road. It will lead you to the beautiful nature of Lendavske Gorice.
Lendava’s Vine Road will lead you to the Chapel of Holy Trinity. This is a longer road (about 2.5 km). It would be best to rent a bike to reach the chapel, unless you’re walking – and this is a great place with gorgeous surroundings to do so!
