St. Louis is a city that shouldn’t be skipped over. You are sure to become famished while visiting the Arch, or running through the City Museum. Let’s skip the boring and bland restaurants and find somewhere that you won’t forget! These five unique restaurants are guaranteed to give you the best dining experience in St. Louis.
1. Venice Cafe
This funky bar has an atmosphere that can’t be beaten. Not even an inch of space is left empty in all of its three stories. The entire building is filled with colorful paintings, shiny mosaic tiles, and random decorations that are guaranteed to keep anyone entertained.
The decor alone is something to come and see. They also have live music daily, which you can find on their website! Music can range from jazz to reggae to Latin! Be sure and visit during happy hour, which lasts from 16:00-20:00.
The food and drinks are very affordable for those looking to dine in an unusual way. Keep in mind that they are a cash-only business!
2. SqWires
SqWires is located in a renovated 19th-century Victorian-era factory, in the Historic Lafayette Square. It was formerly the Western Wire factory.
Not only do they serve great American cuisine, but they host live blues and jazz music Thursday through Sunday, which you can find on their website. Their seasonal menu features creative interpretations of American cuisine, ranging from seafood to indulging desserts. If you’re looking for a massive selection of drinks, choose from the extensive martini menu, craft beers on draft, 50 wines, or a full bar.
SqWires isn’t the cheapest of options, but if you’re searching for spectacular quality food and drinks, then look no further.
3. Three Sixty
Located atop the Hilton Hotel, Three Sixty provides a jaw-dropping 360 degree view of Downtown St. Louis. This upscale restaurant is most known for its unique menu and view of Busch Stadium. While dining, customers are able to sit inside or out on the patio.
The further into the night you get, the more club-like Three Sixty becomes! Try and get there while the sun is setting over St. Louis.
4. Pi
Pi, as in 3.14, is the go-to place for delicious pizza. The Pi Pizzeria is home to a huge selection of deep dish and thin crust pizza, as well as craft beer! Whether you’re looking for a simple pizza or one that you haven’t tried, Pi is guaranteed to make your taste buds explode.
Pi has three locations in the St. Louis area: Downtown, on Delmar Loop, and in the Central West End district. Don’t forget to try something out of the ordinary, because that is what this marvelous restaurant is all about!
5. Crown Candy Kitchen
Go back to the retro days at Crown Candy Kitchen with classic soda fountains, housemade chocolates, and classic American cuisine. Everything here seems to be vintage, from the seating to the signs on the walls. The vintage diner was even on the Travel Channel for their famous milkshakes and BLT(bacon, lettuce, tomato). Be warned, the BLT is LOADED with bacon, but it’s worth trying!
Think you can drink five malts(120 ounces) in under 30 minutes? They have had this competition since 1913, and only 22 people have succeeded(since the time of the Travel Channel episode). If you’re up for the task and succeed, then you get them all for free!
