A folk festival in Galicia

Rua da Alameda s/n 15330 Ortigueira A Coruña Spain

Held every summer in Ortigueira in Galicia, Spain, this festival is a must for those who love Folk music and Celtic culture. It’s been regarded as Event of National Touristic Importance by the Spanish Ministry of Economy. To make the festival even better, the entrance is free and every year, organizers make the effort to provide free bus transportation for attendees.

Aside from the festival night, spending a few extra days in Ortigueira is recommended. After the festival, this tiny village of only 7,000 inhabitants becomes once again peaceful and offers many outdoor activities including hiking trails, beachside walks and more. Also after the festival, processions, street parades and live music takes place to pay tribute to the local Patron, Santa Marta.
