Visit this hidden gem on the island of Biševo

Turistička Zajednica Grada Komiže Riva sv. Mikule 2, 21485 Komiža Croatia

Porat beach is a sandy beach located on the island of Biševo. The Irish Times listed Porat as one of the seven most beautiful beaches in the world” in 2011. This beach is a hidden gem, shielded from strong withs and covered with pine forests.

Porat beach has a bar and two fish restaurants where tourists can enjoy the local cuisine. The sea is crystal clear and a pleasure to swim in.

The island of Biševo is located around 5 nautical miles southwest from Komiža. The island numbers a few settlements such as Mezuporat, Poje, Velo, Porat, Nevaja, Potok and Gornja and Donja Salbunara, but unfortunately those places are very poorly inhabited.

It is easy to find private accommodations on the island. The beach also offers changing cabins, deck chairs, public toilet, an a la carte restaurant, snack bar, cafe bar and a beach bar.

How to get there

Take a highway to Split, and then you can proceed with a bus or a train. When you get to Vis, you will have to travel for another 10 kilometers to get to Komiža.
