Visit Dugi Otok and its exceptional beach Sakarun - The Croatian Hawaii

Obala Petra Lorinja bb 23281 Sali, Croatia

Sakarun beach is located on the northern side of Dugi Otok, and is characteristic for its white sand and Torques Sea. This beach is the most beautiful beach of Zadar area and one of the most beautiful and most visited beaches of the Adriatic Sea.

Nauticals adore this beach because it has a wide bay and secured floating ropes. The only way to get there is by taking a ferry form Zadar across Božava and Sali.

The beach is approximately 800 meters long, and 250 meters from the shore the depth does not go over 3.5 meters, which makes it a paradise for swimmers of all ages.

The specificity of Sakarun beach are the numerous underwater wells and for that reason, swimming in the crystal clear sea can be refreshing even when the temperatures are very high. The beach is bordered with a thick pine forest, which is highly suitable for an escape from the sun and eating lunch in a small hidden restaurant.

There is a hotel on the beach which has a lounge and cocktail bar, and you can rent deck chairs to rest. Nearby the beach there is a big parking lot. If you ever visit this place, make sure to check out some of the local picturesque places such as the Veli Rat, Seline, Dragove and Verunić.
