The Veliki Žal Beach is located approximately thirty kilometers west form Dubrovnik, very near to the settlement of Brsečine. It is located straight underneath the Adriatic highway and tou can get to it by a car (free parking).
The beach is covered in gravel, which gives the beach its name as “žal” means gravel in Croatian.
Together with the well-preserved nature, Veliki žal beach is known for the purity of the sea, and its biggest edge is the secluded location.
The beach offers a restaurant where swimmers can enjoy food and drinks. You can also go to a cocktail bar that offers grilled food, pizzas and sandwiches.
Water sports lovers can enjoy jet ski rides, banana boat rides and tuba rides. You can also rent deck chairs and parasols. The contents are not expensive, when you take into consideration the rest of the pricing in Dubrovnik.
Follow the highway to Split, then proceed to Dubrovnik by the Adriatic highway which follows the Adriatic coastal line and where you will enjoy the view
