The castle looks like it fell out of a fairy tale. It’s truly breathtaking

This beautiful castle was built back in 1818. The building is absolutely stunning and it was one of the first ones that had a roof that was covered in roof tiles in its entirety. The castle was rich in rooms, kitchens and pantries, and over the time it just got bigger and bigger.

The original owners were the members of the Prandau family, but then their daughter married into the Mailath family and that’s how it became a Mailath estate as well.

The park around the castle looks stunning as well, especially in autumn. The castle looks like it fell out of a fairy tale and it’s a perfect location for snapping a few nice photos for either your Facebook or Instagram feed!

The castle today acts as the seat of Donji Miholjac city government. That means that you’re welcome to check it out from outside, but if you don’t have any business with the City government, don’t really go inside.

The aforementioned park is perfect if you want to take a nice and relaxing walk, it’s truly beautiful and it leaves every visitor breathless.

Checking out this gem is free, there are no tickets or additional fees, so if you decide that you’d like to visit Donji Miholjac or another place closeby, don’t forget to go and see the castle as well!
